What Happens When You Turn This Teufel Subwoofer on Its Side?
German audio company Teufel Audio has introduced the T 10 Mk2, a new version of its compact active subwoofer designed for home theaters, music systems, and gaming setups. What makes the updated model particularly interesting is that it can be used in either Frontfire or Downfire configuration, allowing users to change how the bass is delivered into the room.
Argon Audio’s New Berlin Subwoofers Promise
According to Teufel, the T 10 Mk2 can reproduce frequencies down to 31 Hz at -3 dB. The subwoofer is available in both black and white finishes, giving buyers a choice depending on their room and system.
A 10-Inch Woofer and 150W Class D Amplifier
The Teufel T 10 Mk2 uses a 250mm long-throw woofer powered by a 150W Class D amplifier. Teufel says the combination is designed to produce deep and controlled bass while keeping the enclosure relatively compact.
For integration with different speaker systems, the subwoofer includes an adjustable low-pass filter, phase switch, and signal level control. These controls allow users to adjust the T 10 Mk2 to better match their main speakers and listening room.
You Can Choose Which Way the Bass Fires
One of the more unusual features of the T 10 Mk2 is its two-position design.
In Frontfire mode, the woofer faces toward the listener, allowing the driver to radiate directly into the room. The enclosure can also be rotated by 90 degrees to switch to Downfire mode, with the woofer pointing toward the floor.

Teufel says the Downfire configuration produces a more pronounced and tangible bass experience. That gives users some flexibility when experimenting with placement and the way the subwoofer interacts with the room.
Wired or Wireless Connection
The T 10 Mk2 includes a standard RCA input for a conventional wired connection. It also features a built-in wireless module for compatible Teufel soundbars and AV components.
The wireless system can also be used with equipment from other manufacturers, including Denon, Marantz, Yamaha, and Pioneer, when paired with the optional Subwoofer Wireless Transmitter.
That makes the T 10 Mk2 an interesting option for systems where running a traditional RCA cable to the subwoofer isn’t practical.

The Teufel Audio T 10 Mk2 is now available in Europe in black and white. The recommended retail price is €419.
