The AURALiC Aquila X3 streaming media processor marks a new era in high-end audio, featuring a 14-inch touchscreen display, an integrated CD drive, and modular hardware add-ons. Powered by Tesla’s proprietary G3 streaming platform, the Aquila X3 utilizes groundbreaking Direct Data Recording (DDR) technology alongside galvanic isolation for unparalleled performance.
According to Xuanqian Wang, founder and chief designer of AURALiC, “The Aquila X3 is the reason we chose to discontinue the G3 product line. Its fresh design and extraordinary value made it the perfect flagship to introduce the X series.”
Next-Level Connectivity and Control
The Aquila X3 offers seamless integration with streaming technologies through a user-friendly interface, developed in collaboration with LightningCast. It supports Lightning DS, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, AirPlay II, and more. For connectivity, the device is equipped with Ethernet, Wi-Fi, two Toslink inputs, a coaxial input, USB-B ports at the back, USB-C on the front, HDMI eARC for TVs, and USB 3.0 for external memory devices. Additionally, the internal storage can be expanded to a massive 8TB via NVMe SSDs.

Customizable Expansion Modules
The Aquila X3 adapts to individual needs with optional digital and analog output modules. Among the standout options is the proprietary Fusion Gen II DAC, which debuted in the G2.2 series. This DAC integrates a LEO Clock generator and ORFEO Class A output module, complemented by a passive analog ORFEO volume control.
The Fusion DAC utilizes discrete ladder circuitry combined with Delta-Sigma architecture, bypassing traditional DAC functions like PLL and digital filters. Instead, it incorporates proprietary AURALiC technologies, introducing four “Tone Modes”: Clear, Mellow, Richness (enhancing tonal warmth and density), and Texture (focusing on sound detail and purity).
Alternatively, users can opt for a phono module or an ADC module for recording and processing via the Tesla G3 platform.
Superior Power Supply and Build Quality
Powering the Aquila X3 is an external frequency-regenerating power supply featuring a Class AB amplifier. This system uses a “pure sine” source with a regeneration frequency of up to 400 Hz, ensuring clean and stable power delivery that is immune to network instability and interference.
Aesthetic options elevate the product even further. For the first time, users can customize trim colors and panel materials, choosing from Jet Black, Space Gray, or Titanium Gold finishes with panels in aluminum plastic, solid walnut, natural slate, or marble. These panels are easily replaceable and configurable on the product page.
Availability and Pricing
The AURALiC Aquila X3 is expected to be available between March and April 2025, priced at €14,500 in Europe. With its innovative features and modular design, the Aquila X3 sets a new standard for streaming media processors and reinforces AURALiC’s position as a leader in high-end audio technology.
