Dirac and Denon Unveil Advanced Car Audio Concept System

The Denon Car Audio Concept System, developed jointly by Dirac and Denon, has the potential for wider adoption in production cars. Several factors contribute to this potential

Existing partnerships: Dirac has already collaborated with car manufacturers such as Volvo, Polestar, and Genesis on car audio systems, indicating a willingness within the automotive industry to adopt Dirac’s technologies.

Technological solution: Dirac’s digital audio solutions are specifically designed to address acoustic challenges within car interiors, such as geometric limitations, noise, vibration, interference, and sound distortion. These solutions provide a clear benefit for improving in-car audio experiences.

Demonstrated system: The Denon Car Audio Concept System is a working prototype showcased at CES 2025, demonstrating a functional application of the combined technologies1. The system includes 22 sound sources, and height sources, and supports Dolby Atmos2. It also allows for adjustment of audio immersion and equalizer curves with saved settings.

Established collaboration: The companies have a history of collaboration, which includes the Denon PerL headphones and the use of Dirac technology in many of Denon’s AV receivers1. This existing relationship suggests a solid foundation for further development and implementation of their car audio system.

However, it is important to note that the system is currently presented as a demonstration model and the cost and timing for its appearance in real cars are not yet known.
