FiiO SR11: Streaming music receiver for $100
The FiiO company showed on its website the New FiiO SR11 digital streamer, which can become a central network hub in a modern audio system. The new product provides the ability to stream music from popular services such as Tidal, Spotify, and Amazon Music. The SR11 supports Apple AirPlay, and the company is also working on introducing Roon support.
I tested it, and I like the sound. It doesn’t work via DLNA right out of the box, you need to install firmware 1.7.4 DLNA. I found the firmware on Dustereo; the person posted all the firmware. The firmware archive is downloaded to a flash drive without unpacking. We insert the flash drive into the streamer, select the update mode using the knob, to do this, hold it down, and wait for the transition to the streamer settings. When finished, restart the streamer. Next, to connect it to WiFi, you need to understand what its IP address is. For this, I plugged an Internet cable from the router into it and used a special program that shows all the IP addresses of devices in the home network. Next, enter the IP address in the browser and select your WiFi. In the future, the streamer will work from this WiFi without reconnecting.
I decided to conduct a couple of tests on the stability of the connection via dlna using the Connect Lite application and the built-in Qobuz service (you can buy a subscription on Avito). According to the interface of the built-in Qobuz, it is closer to wiim home, so I use it, not Bubble. Via wifi mconnect, every 5-7 tracks drop out. Via twisted pair, the connection seemed more stable, perhaps it seemed so because periodically in every 5-7 tracks, the sound disappeared, while the time slider of the track continued to move, and the next track already started with sound. I just had to click on the time slider of the song again to resume the sound, perhaps notifications on the phone from other applications “distracted” it. What can I say, connect does not work as stably as Wiim Home, perhaps this problem will be solved in the future, but for now, this is how it is.
Add. The problem with switching tracks and losing sound is related to the Internet; if it sags, problems begin, but I have not yet figured out how to solve it. The new USB cable from Inntak has not arrived yet, so I connected it to the DAC with a 200₽ cable from DNS 20 cm 5 amps, and the sound through it is excellent.
Add. The intake, USB, and coax cables arrived. The sound is better via USB. I recommend buying it.
P.S. I consider the construction of a home setup complete, the sound torments the soul and caresses the ears). All subsequent posts will be about updating the successful setup)
Add. On iOS, mconnect works without problems and breaks switch tracks. On Android, the stability problem is solved by reducing the quality in the Kobuz settings to CD 44khz

The SR11 transmits audio via digital coaxial or optical outputs – it has no analog outputs, so owners of older hi-fi systems without digital inputs will need a DAC.
To work on the network, the new product is equipped with dual-band Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet for additional reliability. In addition to optical and coaxial outputs, the device’s rear panel includes USB Type-A and USB-C ports, which support 32-bit/768 kHz and DSD256 files. The device’s status is controlled using a large LCD screen on the front panel, and the included remote control is used for control.
