NAD Unveils Next-Gen C 379 Amplifier: The Future of Hi-Fi

Ahead of the highly anticipated High End Munich show, NAD is buzzing with excitement as they unveil their latest addition to the Classic Series of amplifiers. Dubbed the C 379, this amplifier boasts a cutting-edge design dubbed ‘HybridDigital DAC,’ blending NAD’s proven Class D amplifier architecture with the advanced ESS SABRE digital-to-analog converter.

NAD’s signature Modular Design Construction (MDC) technology is also present in the C 379, offering owners the flexibility to upgrade with future technologies such as BluOS network streaming and Dirac room correction. With expansion slots available, the amplifier ensures longevity and adaptability to evolving AV trends.

Delivering 80 watts of continuous power into both eight and four ohms, the C 379 can also be bridged with NAD’s C 268 power amplifier for an impressive 300-watt output. Moreover, boasting high running efficiency, NAD claims the C 379 consumes significantly less power compared to conventional amplifiers in its class.

Even without the BluOS streaming module, the C 379 offers aptX HD Bluetooth for offline streaming, along with a variety of analog and digital inputs, including HDMI eARC and MM phono, catering to diverse audio sources from TVs to turntables. Additionally, a built-in headphone amplifier stage ensures compatibility with a wide range of headphones.

Set to debut at the High End Munich show, the C 379 will hit the shelves towards the end of June, priced at £899 / $1099. With its remarkable versatility and future-proofing capabilities, it poses a strong contender against competitors like Arcam’s acclaimed A15 integrated amplifier. Will it shake up the established hierarchy in the world of amplifiers? Only time will tell, but its impressive features certainly make it a compelling option for audio enthusiasts.
